A Good Problem

Every once in a while, we have a chance to look up and see where we are compared to where we’ve been.  Yesterday, was one such day for me…

After teaching my kiddo to read, and getting into homemade books (making print size large enough for him to see,) I started writing mini-books on various topics: History, Biology, Science, Geography (Genesis 1 was a fabulous resource for generating material.)

Before long though, I noticed my son absorbing the material faster than I could write it, even though we had graduated from hand print markers to computer font.  “What’s this? – A sale on reading materials?” (I am a sucker for a good sale.)  I ordered some…  My introduction to Rookie Read-About…Series (1-2 grades) and Getting to Know the World’s Greatest…Series (3-4 grades) was like a kid having their 1st piece of chocolate, and walking into a Sees Candy Store.  “OMG! Let’s learn about this!”  “Ooh! That sounds fun!”

Thank God for thriftbooks.com … Now we just need to buy more ink cartridges for the printer!  What a great problem to have!

Of the 4 areas we have to address to get a hurt kid well (health, sensory, movement, and education,) education is by far the easiest!
