Is Anyone Curious??

First, the good news:  “Tee” is ticklish on his belly and torso for the 1st time in his life!!!!  Head back, full-on, laugh-out-loud ticklish!

Next, a very brief history:  Although it is my intention for this blog to empower parents in seeking and finding unique answers for their kiddos, and facilitating that process… every once in a while, I’ve got to shout out a Hip-Hip-Hooray for the progress of my own kiddo.

“Teez” injury happened so early on, and so deep in the brain that it affected his major sensory systems, especially sight, hearing, and touch.  To touch him as a baby, even the gentle, loving, warm touch of Mama, would overload his “electrical” system, and send him limp.  (How a parent conveys love under such circumstances is the topic of another entry, I think.)  So often, when anyone touched his skin, it was as if you had turned on the microwave, the vacuum, and the hairdryer in your house at the same time:  overload and trip the circuit.  This was unpleasant, and uncomfortable for all (especially “Tee”) not liking hugs, pushing people away, etc.

This is NOT something that you “work on” with ABA training, OT, PT or Speech Therapy; and don’t even get me started on the insanity of “desensitizing” anything.  This is something that is changed as the brain heals and matures itself.

A few years back, we discovered therapies have to do with Hertz (Biofeedback, Neurofeedback, rTMS, PEMF, FSM, and the MAS.)

We have done very pleasant, loving and enriching experiences with smell and feather touch as prescribed by: Mendability.com  Claudie Pomares is a wonderful and smart woman.

Last December, we learned the Need to Breathe, thank you IAHP.

Then 16 days ago, we pioneered something new…  the application of 6 simple reflexes, as SENSORY INPUT for kiddos not able to motor through them on their own.  I honestly do not know anyone else doing these, in this way.  It came as a result of a mom, this mom; asking herself, God, the furniture, the dog, and driving her husband a little nutty…  “What else can be done?”  Putting the puzzle pieces together from different sources; the answer came.  And I am sure the Good Lord, had a Hand in it as well.;-)

Now today, ticklish laughter, where there once was unbearable!

Is ANYONE curious, as to how this could work for your kiddo or loved one??

Thanks be to God!

This made my day. I so grateful you have put so much of yourself in educating yourself in neurology and therapies to create more effective solutions that work. Other parents and kids will benefit from this. You are a true pioneer. I’m so proud of you!

Thank you! From your lips to God’s ears, Bernadette! Maybe some day, I will go back to selling my art work, marrying people, and playing jazz flute to the sound of clinking glasses and parties being enjoyed; but for now, there’s a world of hurt kids whose families need someone standing on a bridge for them and pointing, “head in that direction.”
